DRIVE UNITS BY MANUFACTURER:
DT-99
The Monacor DT-99 is a good value replacement for old 100mm tweeters such as the Audax HD100 series, Peerless DT-100 and LR-10-DT, as found in many 1970s/80s designs.
The DT 99 has an excellent radiation pattern with a smooth rising response curve and offers a level of performance that is is unparalleled at this price point.

Be aware this may physically replace the DH100T ( 811815) and many other 100mm face plate tweeters but there the similarities stop. Electrically and acoustically they are worlds apart from the early Peerless offerings . The DT99 has a rising frequency from 3K up to 20K to a mind boggling 96 db . It is a 92db driver but at 3k so be warned if a direct swop for a DH100 is envisaged . A few tweaks to the cross over, mine at 3500hz ( at 12db/ octave ) , plus a gargantuan lpad of 5/ 10 ohm and measurement wise it all fell into place . Measurement wise its not too bad . Listening wise ,no smearing and captures trailing cymbols / highs nicely . The manufacturers FR is a bit choppy but baffled up it measures not to bad apart from the slight drop of 2db at 5k plus ish . This drop is not too wide and could you hear it ... I doubt it . Off axis ( which the manufacturer isnt keen on showing ) again is pretty good up to 45 degrees . it nose dives after that at 7 K plus . ) Perfect it aint . but at this money ..?.May be really well suited to a 2 way BBC smiley face FR monitor than 3 ways IMHO. Listening wise could you tell the difference , if unamended in the cross over definitely . Corrected ,,, the jury is out . Great value though and well put together . Thanks Will for pulling the stops out on this and continued top grade service .
Thankyou for your review !

On reflection having now fitted the foam, I wish it was 15mm to 18mm or even 20mm thick. This is not a complaint. For a small speaker under 30cm high it’s perfect. For a larger speaker I feel a thicker sponge would hold its structure more pleasingly, its aesthetics, but important for the finished look.
I’ve been building my own home cinema as a complete DIY project and reached the stage where I needed some decent acoustic foam for my speaker panels (also DIY!) so I picked up 3 large sheets from here. They were sent quickly, packed well and moreover, are of excellent quality. With them being folded into the shipping box they were slightly creased but after leaving them out overnight on a flat surface, the creases fell out completely. They’re now in place and doing their job brilliantly. Cheers Willys Hifi!
The crossover was constructed well, I just need to figure out the best way to attach it to my Kef Concertos as they are bigger than the ones supplied by Kef that are mounted on the front of the baffle board.
Very nice deep bass look amazing with my custom made speaker
Great speedy delivery and very easy to fit. The plastic in my drivers had perished and they had suffered one too many parties! No need to make any adjustments (someone above did suggest that). I just screwed them in and the foam compressed into place. Before and after below (before I changed speaker number 2). Thank you!
