DRIVE UNITS BY MANUFACTURER:
Bipolar MKP metallised polypropylene film capacitors - specifically designed for loudspeaker crossover networks and have excellent sonic qualities. Ideal for upgrading old electrolytic capacitors in treble / midrange crossover sections, bringing new life and transparency. Very low loss, hermetically sealed and resistant to ageing.
Our stocked ranges:
A really good range of capacitors from Audyn of Germany. There's many handy non-standard values in this range and their 400v rating makes them ideal for both domestic and professional applications.
Excellent value polypropylene film capacitors. Their performance is actually bit of an eye opener, especially in the treble range where they sound very open and easily eclipse factory fitted electrolytics.
Featuring the Mundorf ultra precise EVOLUTION winding technology these hand spooled capacitors offer an extremely low ESR (equivalent series resistance). Asymmetric leads (larger values) allow for x or y mounting. A vibrant, revealing performer.
A further development of the Mcap EVO, the Mcap EVO Oil features the same state of the art foils immersed in oil then hand spooled and potted into special housings. A premium audiophile capacitor that is very smooth and detailed.

Since 1991, I've had Linn Keilidh speakers, which I upgraded a year later to an active system using the Linn Wakonda and two LK100 power amplifiers. Over the past few years, I’ve considered replacing my audio setup with a more compact active system. However, the downside is that it would require a significant investment to achieve a comparable sound quality.
In the end, I opted for an upgrade of the tweeters and new speaker covers after more than 30 years.
The upgrade itself went smoothly using the supplied solder. I’m very pleased with the end result. The upgrade has had a noticeable impact on the soundstage: the bass, midrange and treble all have more space and clarity within the stereo image. This first became apparent to me when listening to vocals—it’s as if you can perceive the space surrounding the voice. And the longer you listen, the more this spatial detail stands out.
I’ve turned the amplifier up slightly, as creating that sense of space seems to require a bit more power.
It’s an upgrade I can definitely recommend.
Wow, just had my Mission 753 upgrades of crossover and also tweeters. What a difference it’s made! The high frequencies are more refined and OMG, the separation and richness of mud and bass if awesome…..much thanks to Willy’s for giving my 753’s a new life 😀😀
Excellent advice from will as usual and exactly what I wanted. These have improved the sound of my current speakers and taken them to another level. Sounds superb I can hear tonal difference's between things that I never heard before. Superb bass drivers dig so deep.
As usual will has been outstanding.
Brilliant to deal with always helpful and gives great service.
What a brilliant capacitor, from first listen exceptional clarity and depth. Bargain will be buying more.
Swapped out the 30 yr old AlCap capacitors for the Audyn Q4 on Wills recommendation (along with a ferrofluid change). What a difference, added so much more definition and clarity. Very impressed. Audyns are a fair bit bigger size wise but fitted easily enough on the board and the access aperture on the TDL Studio 1's.
