DRIVE UNITS BY MANUFACTURER:
XO2W-3K
Categories: Crossover Networks
Ready built loudspeaker crossover featuring a 1mm OFC high current laminated bar core inductor in the low pass section, an air core inductor in the treble section and metal film capacitors throughout - all components are bonded to the PCB to eliminate possible rattles.
This crossover has a second order (12dB/octave) Linkwitz-Riley rolloff and can be configured for 4 or 8 ohm woofers by simply moving a plug which opens up opportunities for MTM / D'Appolito designs. The treble section is designed for 8 ohm tweeters. For use in a domestic environment, power rating of 300W.
Connections are by 4.8mm faston / spade push connectors (available here: 4.8mm connectors) . Easy to surface mount inside the loudspeaker enclosure, does not need standoffs.
With a rugged 1.75mm glassfibre PCB bonded to a 4mm MDF backboard this is a very well made crossover representing excellent value for money.
Size: 170 x 115 x 40mm approx.
Bought a pair of Dayton Audio crossovers for my Celestion DL4s, it has, without doubt improved the overall sound quality, well worth the cost, so can recommend these to anyone who wants to improve the performance of their speakers without breaking the bank !
Thanks for the review Colin !

I've had my Mission 734s for about 30 years and for the last five or so the bass units have been falling to pieces. I was about to take the speakers to the tip, but didn't have the heart knowing how capable these used to be. I did a little internet research and these Monacor replacements appeared to do the job. Next day delivery from Willys was impressive, as was the killer sound once the replacements were fitted (which was a simple job). I'd forgotten how these speakers make the windows rattle. Very happy customer!

I always knew that Linn should never have stopped using Hiquphon tweeters. What I don't know is why it's taken me thirty years to fit a pair in my old Kabers. It's often hard to describe sonic character ....but to pinch Linn's old line from back in the day ...they're Simply Better.(even straight out the box with soldering iron still warm)
As my Kabers are passive,I had been a little concerned that the the 8 ohm nominal impedence of the OW1 would mess with the crossover slope. I needn't have worried....if its shifted the crossover point its much for the better.
Warm thanks also to Will and Caroline for a service in keeping with the outstanding quality of the Hiquphon product.

Been looking for a supplier of replacement drivers for some years.
Willy's HiFi had just the parts at a good price and they arrived in a couple of days.
Excellent service. Even a personal thank you hand written on the invoice.
