The Morel ST 1308 is a high-end 28mm soft dome tweeter from the Supreme range with an offset 130mm aluminium faceplate. This innovative drive unit features a short voice coil operating in a long magnetic gap - linear operation is maintained throughout the bandwidth even at high output levels as the coil assembly never strays from the area of peak magnetic flux (this mode of operation is often referred to as 'underhung'). The voice coil is wound with Hexatech Aluminium wire (Hexagonal section, zero air gap) and is cooled by ferrofluid. The dome assembly is hand coated with Acuflex damping compound and is field replaceable. The critically tuned and damped rear chamber yields a low resonant frequency of just 680 Hz.

Power handling is excellent at 220w nominal, 1000w peak.

As can be seen from the datasheet, the ST 1308 has an incredibly smooth response; the critical 3kHz-17kHz band is held within 2dB limits.
