The Fountek NeoCD3.0 is a true ribbon tweeter featuring an 8 x 60mm diaphragm, a high power neodymium magnet and a 110mm circular alloy faceplate. The ribbon material is an ultra light (10mg) multilayer aluminium sandwich with a cross section of 0.015mm (approx 0.6 thou).
This medium sized ribbon tweeter has a high sensitivity of 93 dB and a broad operating range of between 1.4 kHz to 40 Khz. The end tensioning clamps form a substantial heatsink for the low impedance ribbon and an impedance matching transformer is built into the back of the housing.
Representing an excellent price / performance / size ratio, this tweeter has been used in various high end designs.
We recommend a minimum crossover frequency of 2.5kHz / 18db octave.
