DRIVE UNITS BY MANUFACTURER:
Morel TSCM 634 Midrange
The Morel TSCM 634 Midrange drive unit combines many of the Morel proprietary technologies and innovations resulting in an exceptional drive unit: The Uniflow™ Aluminium diecast chassis gives maximum undisturbed airflow and minimal rear reflection; the Coppersleeve / Faraday pole piece negates rising voice coil impedance therefore maintaining linearity; the motor system is superbly engineered featuring a Hybrid™ Neodymium / Ferrite mixed magnet assembly, a Titanium voice coil bobbin and a large 3" voice coil wound with Hexatech™ Aluminum wire.
The TSCM 634 features a composite sandwich cone composed of Carbon Fibre outer layers bonded to a Rohacell® structural foam core - a cutting edge technology more commonly found in the aerospace industry. The extremely rigid and light cone offers a highly dynamic sound with great pace and control.
The frequency response is tailored specifically for midrange reproduction and is very flat with superb linearity between 1-5 kHz. Power rating is 150w nominal and can withstand short term peaks of 1000 watts. A full datasheet can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.
Superb drive unit - highly recommended.

As always, items arrived nicely packed and promptly.
I purchased these as substitutes for another driver that was used in a transmission line design. The old drivers had way too high a Q and sounded a bit boomy.
I chose these mainly because the diameter was exactly the same as the original drivers, meaning no cabinet reworking :)
They behaved very well in the transmission line cabinet and don't exhibit any peaks or nulls in the response. Very easy to work with and the 2nd order crossover couldn't be much simpler, crossed at around 2.4K which was mainly determined by the DT105 tweeter I was using, the drivers blend really well together.
Overall these are a very good sounding driver with a natural and neutral sound.
For those interested, I have included pictures of the speaker, crossover and measurements.
Tip: Run these drivers in before measuring and designing the crossover!
Good service well packed
I've needed something like this for years, fantastic product and a lovely company to deal with. Won't be my last purchase from them
It was a nice experience to send the old filters to the UK (from the Netherlands) and get them surprisingly fast back (taking the overseas shipment into account). At first I did it wrong since I also replaced the drivers that could also be connected in a 4/6 Ohm (double coil). But after correcting and calibrating my receiver the speakers sounded great.
Thanks!
Used in a DIY LS3/5a project, with Morel CAT 298 tweeters and custom crossovers using ClarityCap CSAs. Super pleased with these woofers! I think they synergize well with the “live” thin-wall LS3/5a cabinets. The sound is neither bloated, nor thin, just revealing, spacious, and with very lifelike tone. I’m so happy with the results of this project and had a great buying experience with Willy’s. Thank you!!
