The Fountek RD1.0 is a compact entry level fourth generation ribbon tweeter with a 90mm circular faceplate. This design features a 40x8mm ribbon mounted in an aperiodic shallow horn coupled to a powerful neodymium magnet assembly yielding a smooth, extended response with high efficiency and low distortion. The ribbon is made from an ultra light (10mg) multilayer aluminium sandwich with a cross section of 0.015mm (approx 0.6 thou). An impedance matching transformer is built into the back of the housing.
We recommend a minimum crossover frequency of 3.5kHz / 18db octave.
