This Illuminator midrange is a highly advanced drive unit featuring some very forward thinking technology. The unique alloy chassis is open and has been optimised for maximum airflow with minimum reflection / sound disturbance; the underhung magnet is outrigged from the chassis; the spider is completely open on both sides and the patented pulp cone / dust cap is a one piece jointless design. These advancements result in an very open, natural sound with minimal compression.
With a text book response curve and an excellent bandwidth of 100Hz-10KHz, these exotic drive units have realism / transparency and are a top choice for high end 3 way designs.
